The confusing style of writing seems over-exaggerated in order to slightly mock the nature of poets, himself included. It could mean many different things to people. The underlying wonder in this poem is hidden within layers of metaphors and nonsensical combinations of words — you have to spend time on it in order to understand it and see its significance.
When you spend time on it becomes clearer and fills you with clarity and perspective. Explore how language is used in Continuum in order to create effect on the reader. Just want to throw myself into this one… To me, Continuum is all about life moving very slowly, and I think that the kind of frustration we all feel when needing to analyse this poem is exactly the authorial intention.
Cunrow is displaying his frustration in waiting. Furthermore, the enjambment emphasises the denotation of continuum as it gives the poem a continuous structure. Overall, the authorial intention behind this poem is to display how slow time goes, and how frustrating it is for Cunrow. The author writes about his inability to sleep due to his inability to come up with material to write about most likely a poem, could be another form of text.
He therefore gets up in the dead of night when everyone is asleep and experiences a surreal world as his reality and dreams blend together in one beautiful work of poetry. It is ironic however, that when he finds nothing to write about, he writes about his inability to write.
No rhyme scheme. It also shows how his confusion affects his interpretation of the world at night as something surreal. Three lines per paragraph. Note how he ends off the paragraph mid-sentence.
This is used as enjambment to display the same thing, that he is unable to upkeep a coherent train of thought. The structure of the poem is also disorganized, with little patterns to it, elucidating the fact that the writer has spent little time redrafting his work concerning the poem.

The poem reflects on the author leaving his house and gazing at the sky, then going back in the house because he was cold. This poem delves into different themes. In this essay I will be exploring the different themes of the poem. One of the main themes expressed in this poem is the theme of the time.
The author waits a long time outside of his house. This is shown as he talks about how the moon rolls over the roof. In the end of the first stanza he mentions that the moon isnt actually moving but it is his own perception. This may be because he waited for such a long time that the moon moved across the sky and that from his viewpoint across the roof or that he was moving himself and seeing the moon at different angles.
In the 5th stanza, the poet says A long moment stretches, the next one is not on time. This shows a desire for order. This relates to perception of time, as he doesnt see time pass when he wants something to last.
